Contrib Tiger scripts
---------------------

This directory provides some scripts that have not yet been integrated
into the main Tiger source code but which might be useful for some
administrators. They have been provided by different Tiger users
and are included for convenience of other users

- anacron.patch: patch to make Tiger useful with Anacron, which might
be relevant for systems not running 24x7 (such as laptops) in which
some checks might not be run due to the system being powered off.
Contributed by Nicolas Franois (for Debian Bug #148274)

- failed_ssh.pl: a small script to parse the syslog and output which
users/systems have made failed login attempts. It might be useful
to summarise that information and detect people doing brute-force
  attacks over SSH.
  Contributed by Javier Fernandez-Sanguino

- check_nfslocalhosts.pl: Check if any local file systems are being
exported to 'localhost' and check the local host is in a netgroups
entry in its own exports file. http://www.cert.org/advisories/CA-1994-15.html
Contributed by Bob Hall (Savannah Patch #1392)

- check_sshconfig.pl: Check the user's SSH configuration files for known
  issues.
Contributed by Mike Sconzo (Savannah Patch #1091)

- secauditdb-1.1-11: A security audit database based on Tiger. It reads
Tiger/TARA reports and generated aggregated reports of all the information
  provided within it.
Developed by Sanford M. Orlow, Center for Information Technology,
  National Institutes of Health

- addon_check: A number of checks developed by NIH which have not yet
been integrated into the Tiger main source code.
Developed by James E. Sullivan, Center for Information Technology,
  National Institutes of Health
